Regretably, Pat Buchanan discredits the cause. I think we need better immigration control, but this kind of racist language simply makes it more difficult to get anything done.

Ping on that, only make it not "racist" language, but "stupid" language

How did they manage to form a liberal constitutional republic

Shared culture and heritage and a love of ideas from the European Enlightenment philosphers along with a tradition of old English common law that began even before Magna Carta and which by the death of Charles II had pretty much neutered the Brit monarchy. Mexico lacks that tradition and their citizens swarming here en masse lack that commonality with this nations founders who did the wonderful things you admire.

So, you think turning a Euro-descended nation into an "other"-descended nation is all hunky dory? even in light of hyphenated Americans? If so, why? Do you have something against Caucasians?

BTW...great bean.

Mexico is a good bit older than we are from pre-colonial times. Cultural shortcomings die hard.

Woo hoo, cultural shortcomings? So, since Euros in the 1700s would generally drink themselves under the table, bathe once a year etc. are those shortcomings still alive now?

Coin toss.

On a coin toss, the ease and flow of reading is usually the better usage. "data is" generally reads more easily than "data are" unless preceded by something specifically indicating a plural meaning such as "these data are" vs. "these data is".

BFD. Wealth in Mexico is concentrated in the hands of powerful families. It skews the results. Mexico has almost no middle class.

The squalor, filth, and primitive existence so commonly found in Mexico is unheard of in Costa Rica.

And if every non-white nation on earth has the right to decide that it wants to retain a certain racial makeup or balance, should that be denied to majoriy-white nations?

Ok, besides the Japanese and the Chinese (the latter as commies don't count) and the warped out African states like Zimbabwe, which are the states you're referring to?

Why aren't we ruled by old European feudalism and monarchism?

Because our white European founders had some revolutionary ideas for a unique new nation and established same with a near perfect Constitution (which we are rapidly, sadly shredding).

Well, the Dutch got to New York first, and Martin Van Buren was of Dutch descent. :) I think the general idea was that any immigration that was other than of Protestants from Northern Europe was problematical.

I don't have the answers but have lived in the third world for the better part of 16 years and have lots of recall of observances.

I'm amazed at the well intentioned naivete here. I think some have an axe to grind with the dominanat culture.

Bias clouds perspective...I freely admit it.

So many Norwegian farmers reading works of European enlightment philosophers? You are very funny.

But you don't believe that is because they were white, do you?

I don't care who calls me a racist. I will recount what I have observed in life and whoever doesn't like it can respond, report or move on.

I have never made the claim that my tribe is without fault. When we are bad.....we are very very bad....the worst actually (see 20th century atrocities)

We'll benefit from the strong democratic traditions of the People's Republic of China and India.

Yes, from India, a democracy that is now holding it's elections with nearly half a billion voters, a nation like the US which has been a democracy since it's independence. Strong Republican tendencies....

European culture civilized this entire planet or at least tried.

Do you have a problem with that....spit it out.

Btw....I liked you better as a watch.

IF Pat is such a racist, because he dares to notice the racial change in America, then is Sharon, and the entire state of Isreal racist because they notice and care about the percentage of Jews that are in Isreal

Jews and ARabs are both of the same race: Semitic. So, Arabs can't be anti-Semitic as that would mean they're anti-themselves.

That word game is so old and tired, it should really be put out of its misery. The last time someone used "Semite" in the original sense was generations before you were born. On the other hand, using that line is a dead giveaway, so by all means, keep on using it!
