Hey everyone, got this post from a friend of mine back in Bellevue. I'm currently in Baghdad, a cavalry scout in the US Army living the news you watch, and mostly the news you never see. I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for support from people like you. It's still a war, it's still very, very real over here, and lots of people, lots of free Iraqi people are dying. But far greater than that, more and more Iraqis have food, and clothes and shoes. Behind all the politics and bickering what's really happening is a lot of lives are being made better. Whereas before a family of 4 would live in a mud hut no bigger than half a porter potty, not allowing their daughters to walk outside because Saddam and his sons were fond of stealing them, raping them and leaving them dead or worse on the side of the road, children now play freely in the streets and come to wave at the American convoys as we toss out MRE's and candy. Things are much better here and it's because of support from back home. Those of you who back us, those families who keep their soldiers strong, the civilian contractors that rebuild the country, it's all doing a lot of good that CNN would never dare report to you. So thanks from the front, we love you guys, and we're not backing down until every one of those kids has a pair of shoes to wear.
