Hi Ms. B-
I posted and ran last night.
Is that a "drive-by post?"
It was a LOOOOONG Saturday.
My aging Mom lives next door,
and everyday is an adventure.
Now, she wants new carpet. SHE wants
carpet, but I have to find it, and manage
all the details. (she has limited memory).
And no car.
Just what I needed...something else to do!
Leaves me little time to be BAD!
Hope you and Mr. B are thawing. Rain for us
this weekend, and I'm in San Diego!
I'm enjoying Karen Hughes book. It's a delight!

Yes, thanks. Nothing like being in a packed theatre, wedged in the middle, having your heart ripped out, with no tissue. :(
I felt ricky-dooed!

My mother freaked out during that movie because I am a gestational diabetic, which means that you because diabetic just while you are pregnant. I was pregnant with my youngest son when the movie came out.

Good to hear Mike is home even if it is a short stay! Time to rest and recoup! I know, since that is what I am doing! Being home like this when you have worked since you where 20, it gets old, but I know I need the rest. Brain got a little sizzled!
Enjoy the visit, and soon enough, he will be back here for good.

I should have mentioned that crying accompanied viewing of "My Dog, Skip", big time at my house. Thanks for bringing that to the fore.
Did you see the DVD of it, with the director's comments? The production team all had been deeply moved by the book and wanted to bring that emotional response over into the movie.
I'd say they succeeded very well.
Also, to those who haven't seen it, it's based closely on a true story.

I use to get my hair tuned up ever 6 weeks .. now I'm down to every 3 weeksI guess just be thankful your little girls aren't making you go bald. :) I went and got my haircut yesterday. I told my hairdresser I wanted it cut shorter than I normally go with a bunch of layers. Well, she got scissor happy and now I have the Laura Bush cut.

It looks okay, but I think it looks better on Laura. It's kind of a mature look on me, but flipping out the ends makes it better.

I don't mean to play "can you top this?" but when I was hospitalized for very serious surgery about 11 years ago now, a series, and I do mean SERIES of interns came in during the night and every one of them woke me up to ask me questions. (Simply one of the pitfalls of having a Doctor who practices at a teaching hospital.) But the one that took the cake was the one who woke me up and was looking for someone else. Groggily, I asked, "WHAT name did you say?" She repeated it, and I then decided it was time to yell. I told her, in more than a normal speaking voice (no one in the other bed, thank you) that she was the 14th person to come in and wake me up and for her to have the wrong person had taken the cake." That is when I yelled a little louder, "Get out of here or I'll find someway to get you arrested or reported or something."
You're not going to believe that she stood right there and said, "Well, since you're wide awake, why don't you tell me how you're doing." Feeling all too angry at that point, I asked her if she knew what surgery I had had? When she told me "No,- remember, I was looking for a different person", I'm afraid at that point that my being around Navy personnel for 20 years took over, and in no UNcertain terms, I told her to leave my room and where to go when she left it and what I would do to her if I ever saw her again.
At that point, she ran from the room - and I turned over, punched the pain meds thingy-drip for another dose and went back to sleep. I wished I'd had one of those hotel signs to put at the foot of my bed - "Awakened 14 times during the night - do not disturb!"
