[NOTE: I'm ignoring the new CBSNews poll because it's survey results are blatantly skewed:

1.) the poll surveys more "Independents" than either Democrats or Republicans -- ALL pollsters agree that true Independents represent only 5-7% of the voting public! Bottomline: by oversampling Independents, CBS is actually oversampling Democrats!;

2.) the poll gives Kerry a 5 or 6 pt lead among all registered voters yet gives President Bush a 2 pt lead in the battleground states HUH? Keep in mind that President Bush won 23 of 30 states by a margin of 5% or more // Gore won 12 of 21 states by a similar margin. Recent polling indicates that President Bush still holds a solid lead in 23 states // Kerry holds a solid lead in 12 // and, according to CBSNews, Bush leads in the remaining 'battleground' states.

Question: HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR KERRY TO LEAD BUSH IN THE OVERALL MATCH-UP WHEN PRESIDENT BUSH LEADS IN THE BATTLEGROUND STATES? Answer: IT'S NOT POSSIBLE (unless, of course, the pollster is oversampling 'Kerry' states)!!

BOTTOMLINE: DESPITE BEING ON THE RECEIVING END OF UNPRECEDENTED PERSONAL AND POLITICAL ATTACKS, THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN AN INCREASE IN BOTH HIS APPROVAL RATINGS AMONG LIKELY VOTERS AND HIS HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCH-UP MARGINS IN CRITICAL BATTLEGROUND STATES!

So, let's relax and enjoy the weekend -- the baseball season opens on Monday and the President will be throwing out the first pitch in St. Louis (let's pray that he gets an ENTHUSIASTIC reception)!!!!

. . . loved reading your description of the President's townhall meeting today -- too bad you weren't able to attend!

If you and Ohio get things organized/confirmed for the 29th by early next week, I should be able to get the time off to attend -- I think a Bush-Cheney Party with fellow freepers would be GREAT FUN (and a GREAT way to support the President)!!!

I don't know what order these nuns are...but I had Ursline and Notre Dame(the meanest..LOL) nuns.....You may not believe this, but I begged my mother to let me go to the convent after 8th grade...even went through a couple of weeks introduction at the convent....my mother was wise, and wouldn't let me.... it was not a true calling........just think I could be Sister Mary Mystery

ENJOY your homecoming tomorrow -- what a JOYOUS occasion!
[Is Mike going back to Iraq or will he be staying in the states for the duration?!]

Neither have I, and today I was paying particular attention to the body language of the audiences for each candidate. Next time the media shows Kerry before a group of people, just look at the group's facial expressions - there are no smiles, and almost extreme scowling or negative facial expressions. What I really noticed today, was a group of people on a stage and they had very sullen expressions on their faces, and they sat there with their arms crossed (which means I'm not going to receive anything you say). Besides that, Kerry's boring, and they would rather be any place else - but most of Kerry's meetings are unions and the people are probably required to attend.

Then .. watch the expressions of people at a Bush rally .. smiling, clapping, waving flags, waving at Bush, reaching out to touch his hand, hugging, cheek kissing. People love Bush and they believe he's a genuinely good person.

It's very facinating to me how absolutely extreme opposite the crowd reactions are.

Deb, he got his wish...after he returns to WR to have the stitches removed, they are sending him back.....You should have heard him when he called....I could tell by the tone of his voice, before he told me, what was coming....he's excited to get to go back and bring them all home.....now I have to worry about the upcoming convoy from Iraq to Kuwait.

***Most freepers are not old enough to remember and I know you are not old so you used google to get it.***

Are you kidding? Saturday mantinee, ten cents for kids, main feature, and a B movie (Tom Mix, if we were lucky.) Pathe News, and maybe even a cartoon. A ten-cent Hershey bar could feed the whole family.

Are you still doing good, Tom? I pray for you every day.

I most certainly did. He came to Huntsville, Ala. and I went to the theater to meet him and I shook his hand and he smiled. I don't remember if he said anything or not. He was dressed in full cowboy outfit complete with guns. I thought it was so neat.

Lets go for it Deb. We can freepmail all the principels and get confirmations. When we know how many to expect we can decide whether to go for the restaurant or rent one of the conference rooms. The lodge people were very accomodating. They will be flexable to our needs. If we want catered they will do that. We just have to make reservations ahead so we will have to get on with it soon.
