Buttkicking and meds cannot take away all of the symptoms--if any.

If the only way one can cope is to stay away from the mentally ill sibling etc., than so be it. There's nothing wrong with it....

What bothers me is that there are so many out there alone, and not getting the help they need. Obviously, many are dangerous to themselves and others in a variety of ways. While I would not judge those family members who choose to stay away from the mentally ill relatives...it just boggles my mind to see them left on their own..

Yes, but unless they are doing everything they can to get her to tell the truth instead of supporting her in her lies than that empathy would disappear very quickly.

Sounds alot like my daughter...she strangled a cat at age 2, I had to put her in therapy at 7 for being violent, she threatened to kill me and hubby when she was 12, I committed her at age 14. She would not stay on her meds, she'd put them under her tongue and then spit them out when we weren't looking. After she got out, she filed a false abuse charge against us after she knocked me unconscious by slamming me up against the refrigerator and then assaulted a cop. She went into state custody, where they only enabled her. She is in prison now for burglarizing my house for drug money.

On top of that...she's pregnant again as she was prostituting for drugs as well. She's already got two kids she can't take care of, one (4 y/o) was adopted by a family member and her ex-boyfriend has custody of the 3 y/o, I pay him child support to help him out. Fortunately, I have close contact with both of the kids, just bought them a bunkbed yesterday for when they come out to the house. I just made arrangements with an adoption agency last week for the new baby, since we don't even know who the father is. It's sad.

This poor gal may be suffering from a condition known as dissociative fugue, featuring "sudden, unexpected travel away from home or one's customary place of work, with inability to recall one's past....confusion about personal identity or assumption of a new identity (partial or complete)."

It can occur in association with Dissociative Identity Disorder and is not necessarily but can be due to the effects of a drug of abuse, a prescription medication,or a medical condition such as epilepsy.

She likely needs professional help as opposed to punitive prosecution......

I'm not kidding, and yes, they did say no further statements. I guess they realize what numbskulls they sound like. Also, now that it's 12:45 and still no presser, they are their usual punctual selves.

Some of the contraptions used back then were akin to torture chambers... There is a place in st joseph missouri that is open to the public...to show all of the evil torture devices. The so called docs were the ones who were whacko.

I am so sorry to learn of your family tragedy. We were with a man on Sat, who told a similar story about his son. They were able to get him into a hospital before he died on the street but he is never coming out.

I am always willing to give people like this girl the benefit of the doubt before I condemn them for lying. Many here are not that charitable.

Interesting. She was caught on tape purchasing the items that were used in the alledged kidnapping.

Okay.. so she planned and staged this.

I agree. The resources that have been committed to solving this 'crime' are huge. Furthermore, she continues to lie. She has said her attacker used duct tape, cough medicine, gum, rope, and something else. These were found in the marsh where she was located. But review of security tapes at local stores revealed she purchased these items herself. Now they are saying they found evidence on her computer that she was planning something.

Perhaps, but in the context of meeting some hunk and spending a few days getting high/drunk and having sex. Then, she has to come up with an explanation for her whereabouts (boyfriend and all), so she sees the news reports about herself, and decides to play along.

Not surprising at all and all of you superior people out there, and you know who you are, don't really need to apologize to me and others here who doubted her story. We all make mistakes. By the way ET, you weren't one of those superiors. They know who they are.
