It shows how the sentimental Christian ideal of giving up one's life for the sake of others can easily be corrupted into the idea of a suicide bomber. It is a deadly manifestation of accepting the idea that faith is superior to reason.

It might be difficult for the Holy Spirit to reach the hearts of a people that will be cheering on the Pharisees and the Romans. These people worship Death. To them, it is entertainment and not a blessing. Another group will see a Jew being tortured to death.
Having said this, I expect some of the seed to fall on fertile ground. And we should pray for those who hear. For a conversion from Islam is a death sentence.

You have it exactly backwards. It's the suicide bomber who's sentimental. Nothing's more down-to-earth and realistic than "Christian ideals".
