What do you think about a major psychological operation. I would start by carpet bombing the outskirts of town with B-52s full of High Explosive ordinance. Then maybe set off a daisycutter around bedtime one night close enough to blow out windows and light up the night sky. Simultaneously you attack verified insurgent hideouts with an AC-130 Spectre.

The psychological impact would be immense. When we pussyfoot around with them they forget who they are dealing with. I'm not saying bomb the town but remind them we can if we want to. Regardless what language you speak, people always seem to understand a nice pressurized shockwave that throws you out of bed :-)

I don't know if the elements we are after can be intimidated by psychological operations. Maybe the US should deal with it the way Israel handled Black September; hunt them down individually and have them disappear, however long it takes. In the meantime, find a way to make sure our people aren't targets. I have a bad feeling about this.
