Since "Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.", I and others think it's a good idea to centralize what the goes on in the Senate (or House if it gets hot).
So if you see something happening on the Senate/House floor you don't have to start a new thread, you can just use this one also if you have a thread that pertains to the Senate, House, or pretty much any GOV'T agency please link your thread here.
If you have any suggestions for this thread please feel free to let me know.
Here's a few helpful links.
C-SPAN what a great thing. Where you can watch or listen live to most Government happenings.
C-SPAN 1 carries the HOUSE.
C-SPAN 2 carries the SENATE.
C-SPAN 3 (most places web only) carries a variety of committee meetings live or other past programming.
A great thing about our Government is they make it really easy for the public to research what the Politicians are doing and saying (on the floor anyway).
THOMAS where you can see a RECORD of what Congress is doing each day. You can also search/read a verbatim text of what each Congressmen/women or Senator has said on the floor or submitted 'for the record.' [This is where the real juicy stuff can be found.]
Also found at Thomas are Monthly Calendars for the Majority and Minority
Roll Call Votes can be found here.

I think it was at least four police stations, but I don't know how many were taken over. This Al Sadr is going to be getting his 72 raisins soon. What gets me, is the poor and oppressed Shi'ites in the Baghdad area are obviously being led down a path that can only hurt them. It would be in their best interest to cooperate, and thus become part of the leadership that they have so long been denied. The way they are being led down this path of destruction by a demagogue like our own dims.
ON WJ, check out this caller calling Sloan impartial when she is obviously a hack.

Speaking of Hamas, now that their new leader has called for a war against America, I say it is time to turn Israel loose to decimate them and declare war against Hamas. We don't want to have a repeat of ignoring the declaration of war by AQ. The first Pali supporting suicide bomber in the US will be blamed on GWB even as those who will do the accusing, will condemn whatever we do anyway. Might as well eliminate an enemy if we have to take the heat anyway.

Yeah, Ratnisi(sp) needs to be taken out too.
And it sounds like Arafat is now at the top of Sharon's hit list.
To: OXENinFLA
We should hit them all while Condi is testifying. ;-)

Radical Shiite militiamen shout from the top of the governor's house they occupied in the southern city of Basra, Iraq (news - web sites), Monday April 5, 2004. About 150 men occupied the building in a dawn invasion, in protest over coalition actions against radical Shia Muslim cleric Moqtada Sadr, seen in poster. (AP Photo/Nabil al-Jurani)
Sheikh Abdel al-Satar al-Bahadli, an official in radical Shiite leader Moqtada al-Sadr's Army of Mehdi, brandishes a sword after taking over the governor's office in the British-controlled port city of Basra. US authorities in Iraq (news - web sites) branded a radical cleric from the Shiite majority an outlaw at the head of an uprising against the US-led occupation of the country, where at least seven US soldiers and 46 Iraqis were killed the previous day.(AFP/Antonio Scorza)

I got a bad feeling about this al-Sadr guy, It's sounding more and more like he's an hardcore Islamic radical.
I heard on FNC this morning that AL-sadr's father wanted a Islamic Iraq.
And watching Brit Hume last night I heard that IRAN is financing Al-sadr.
Then mix in Hamas and Hezballa into all this.(It's beginning to look allot like Palies Marching over in Iraq.)

Wow, Did you catch the Solider that just called in on WJ?
He was saying a big problem over in Iraq was they were getting people coming over with World food Org. or (mostly)Red Crescent.
These people 15-20 would come in set up, later on the Soldiers would go look for them and not be able to find them.
He was making the point that this is one way the Insurgents are coming into Iraq.
To: OXENinFLA
I should note also that he was saying these guy from Red Crescent were showing credentials of some sort.

To: OXENinFLA

To: not-alone
Did ya catch Bennett?
He was great.
To: OXENinFLA
Whoa! WOLFOWITZ might be taking BREMER's job over in Iraq?!?!Who said that?
I missed the soldier on WJ, but I have seen some hints in reports to support what he said about methods of infiltration.
As for Bennett, his speech should become the new mantra, because he is right on the substance, and that is only apperent to those of us who risk our sanity by paying as much attention as we do to the rhetoric.
