I hope you don't mean the Ukrainians. Currently, Ukrainians are much freeer from the things I mentioned than the Russians. You will find that there is a big divide between the "Zapadyane"s (Westerners, ask your family) and the rest. Western Ukrainians (in Lviv, for instance) tended to be more worldly and attuned to the world. The easterners, especially close to to the Russian border (Kharkiv, for instance) are much like Russians in mentality.

I married into a huge Ukrainian family and my mother-in-law grew up there and speaks the language. What you are saying is not true of the Ukrainians I know. Which is why anecdotal evidence, whether positive of negative, is dangerous.

I agree. You'd think that anyone with half a brain could see in 1930s that Hitler's path was a disaster for Germany --- and it was, with Germans losing the largest proportion of their population. You'd think that anyone with hald a brain would not believe that Israelis perpetrated Sep 11, but almost all of the Arab world, and many here, believe so. The point is, people do not always have one half of the brain that you refer to.

I can't accept that freepers believe this. But, a few years ago I thought I would fall over while at the Puyallup fair here in Washington. We stopped at an Islam Information booth and listened to a raving idiot tell us that the Jews flew the planes into the WTC, and more. It is more than frightening to think that these people live right here within driving distance of my home. So I know you are correct about this one.
