Hmm Texas City- isn't that the city that was basically burned to the ground in the 50s after a ship exploded in the harbor and set all the refineries on fire?

That incident happened in the spring of 1947 and was said to have been a munitions ship. Over five hundred people died in the explosion, mostly residents of a low income area.
