They will testify before the full council but not under oath. They have asked to be treated the same as the sitting President and Vice President...they have been granted that request. It might take me a few minutes to find a link.

...cabinet meetings every single day *****LIKE THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION DID...Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha... Yeah, right, Press. Nice try, but a whopper nevertheless.
Bill Press: former head of the California Dem Party. Failed radio talk show host in L.A. Failed co-host of Crossfire on CNN. Failed co-host of a show on MSNBC.
Hope you stay in Washington, Billy Boy. Seems you're career is headed in the appropriate direction. We here in Southern California don't miss you one teeny bit.

I think I recall Dr. Rice saying that Clarke couldn't be bothered to attend, which sounds to me anyway like the guy was supposed to show.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
He even went so far as to say the type of bomb materials were the same as those used in Oklahoma City. !!!It's no secret that ammonium nitrate explosives were used in OKC. They are the simplest and most common form of explosives available. There may be a connection between al qaida and Oklahoma City, but ammonium nitrate is not the smoking gun.

And there won't be a verbatim transcript, either. Handy, that.
To: mabelkitty
If she says the "TRW 800" words, folks will be nuts.
I think it's coming... Nahhh. That would wreck the airline industry overnight. She's going to give truthful testimony, and thereby cut Clarke's legs out from underneath him.
Otherwise, the Commission is window-dressing for the masses. What is really happening is behind the curtain, and the people will vote to retain the adults for another 4 years.

clinton and gore will lie just like they always have, I'm sure. There is only one goal: protect clinton and GET Bush. I don't even trust the Republicans on the commission. I have never seen a more wussy bunch in my life. When I listen to Chairman Kean, I wonder how he could ever be called a Republican. In fact, he once called bill clinton "my good friend". We have few friends on the commission, if any.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
Actually, I heard that information on Fox and Friends with Jerrick and Chetry this morning.
Seems we have a media black-out on that one. Hmmm. Wonder why.

'Tis good that channels 4, 6 and 12 carried the Appleton speech live (for the out-of-towners, that would be the NBC, Fox and ABC affiliates), though 4 and 12 decided to edit out the background. The local C-BS affiliate (channel 58) couldn't be bothered from their usual midday schlock, the cable news stations all made brief appearances, and C-SPAM was notably absent.

The media pundits can never see this big picture as they are too much of an inside crowd to see the obvious. They cannot help themselves. They are like a dog who chases a thrown ball. Its instinct. Bush knows this and uses it often.

"If the media is too busy to cover stories outside this circus, would anyone hear the rebuttals from Kerry against those Bush ads?? Let me mind you that Kerry is low on cash now, and a few more weeks of unrelenting unanswered Bush ads will do real harm to Kerry among the swing voters. We are beginning to see that problem over the gallup poll"
Good observation!

Makes no difference whether or not Clinton and Gore testify. They won't tell the truth anyway. To hear Bill depends on what the meaning of is, is Clinton tell it, he all but won the War on Terror before it ever got started. As for Algore, he seems to have lost touch with reality somewhere between Miami and Jacksonville.

I don't think Clinton nor Gore will testify in public and under oath. Same as Condi did originally.
But I think they are going to testify.
To: Wait4Truth
I don't trust the Republicans on this commission either. I've been unseemingly suspicious of them from day one, RINO or no. Going down the line, they're either sleazy or gutless. Similar to the Dem/Rep makeup in the Senate.

Was this a veiled threat? You know The President has proof of what was or was not done before 2001.

Well, I'm not sure that's true. I read in some article over a week or so ago that clinton and gore would be testifying. President Bush had already said he would testify. All I am saying is that the lead commissioners confirmed the appearance of clinton and gore today.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
The Dems are going to rue the day that they LET Condi go public. President Bush said in his statement that she would review the months leading up to 9/11...as in the preceeding 96 months.
They are going after Condi because they think they can shake her. I am laughing so hard.
To: Mo1
Have faith.
As these people look and sound more idiotic, Fox and Rush numbers go up.
