"Yes, I'm sick of developers. Fly over the island where I live and it looks like it's been given a bad haircut.
"

Do you live in a cave or other natural feature of your island? No? Then your house was built on that island as well.

You want an island all to yourself? Buy one.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I live in a town, located on an island. What I'm referring to are developers who come in (usually from out of state) and "discover" us, log off substantial amounts of the forrested areas to build million-dollar homes, all the while fighting having to pay impact fees yet demanding services; the homes are purchased by wealthy retired folks who vote down our school and park bonds and then, having gotten their little piece of retirement heaven, insist that there be no more development. They turn out at city council meetings to protest any new employers coming in who might provide jobs in this economically depressed area because they might build something that would spoil their view.
So, yes, I'd like to see a lot fewer developers. Not all changes mean progress. And if you are one of those people I'm talking about, please accept my invitation to go back to wherever the hell you came from. My family has been here for four generations; I've earned the right to live here.
