The stories say that Michael called the police to the nursing home. It's unclear whether he was at the nursing home or he just called the police after the nursing home notified him of finding the stick marks and needle cap.

Are there blood tests that are not be being done because of the court battle? Maybe, the father did it to get a sample of blood/tissue to a specialist?

Odd that if the nursing home workers noticed unexplainable needle marks, THEY didn't call police before calling Michael.
