I also love how O'Neil gets hammering Kerry that he's trying to use his military service to get him elected to Congress. Again, not much has changed in 30 years.
This is a real eye-opener. It's amazing how little Lurch's talking points and tactics have changed. Another example: He complained that a residual force of American troops (following Vietnaminazation and to support peace/POW negotiations) would only be targets for insurgents. Same thing we're hearing from Nader/Kuchinich/Dean, and I predict will soon be hearing from the "mainstream" Democrats.
Kerry then expected Americans to believe (or his followers to pretend to believe) that Communists in a South Vietnamese coalition government would place nice if we just picked up and left. Today he expects us to believe that the U.N. could handle Iraq much better; that their "peace keepers" wouldn't be attacked by islamists, and wouldn't run away.
Reality is a persistent problem for 'Rats and leftists.
In other words, "I wish everyone would just take what I say at face value, and then we can discuss how wrong America is and why the communists are so great."
