I was waiting for this to go up. We're about t-minus one hour from it (depending on how long Duke-Xavier goes, I guess). Too bad it's not going to be a long interview like Clarke had. I've noticed that 60 Minutes are not promoting this either. The commercial I just saw advertised the story on soccer phenom Freddy Adu, not the story on Rice or Pickering. I also discovered from the link referenced above that Rice spoke to them this morning and not yesterday as I'd heard would be the case before. Bill Kristol predicted this morning that Rice might say that if this is really such a big deal that she'll testify in public under oath as she's been badgered to do. I don't think Bill has a good track record on predicting news, so take that with a grain of salt. By the way, go Xavier-- I had Duke losing before now in my office pool bracket, but my opponents have them winning it all.

How did Condi do?
To: mystery-ak
I really wish she had not agreed to do this interview. After CBS/60 Minutes finishes editng her comments and adding their narrative it won't resemble anything like what transpired in that room. Bradley has become so touchy-feely PC he makes me sick to my stomach.

Hatchet job, edited to put her on the defensive.

(Now, I ain't one to gossip, so you didn't hear this from me)
Let me get this straight, we shouldn't have responded to Sept. 11th because there have more attacks by al-Qaeda after Sept. 11th than before.
Talk about appeasement.

Well it looks like 60 minutes has failed in its assigned task from the Kerry Campaign. How so?

"And I know many Freepers, myself included, who called and wrote CBS that they should definitely have disclosed their financial interest in the book"
You'll notice they called it a "best seller."
To: Peach
They did talk frequently about how Iraq harbors terrorists. I think you know what I mean. I'm referring to the Iraq/AQ link. It's there but everyone pretends it doesn't exist.

They should have prefaced the program with a BARF alert!

I am so tired of having to write CBS complaining. But, time to fire off another email. I am starting to note the sponsors. Time to copy them!

This wasn't an interview. It was a cross examination by a DNC proxy!

She should have said all this in a press conference rather than on Sixty Minutes. The editors destroyed her. I have to wonder who the hell is advising the WH on media relations?
To: Peach
the Republicans keep thinking that they are going to get fair coverage from the media, so they walk right into these things and get blasted, and then complain about it afterwards. why wasn't the issue about editing of the segment discussed before it was held? Did Rove really think that 60 minutes wouldn't do this?
To: CedarDave
Started at 7:34. Over at 7:46.
12 minutes. Of those, at least two minutes were other soundbites, including Clarke.
Condi asked for this interview. She should have asked for one hour, no editing.

Condi didn't refute the assertion that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 or Al Qaeda.

In my opinion, this was a hit piece. Bradley never gave Condi a chance to say what she came on 60 minutes to say. I am furious...
To: lonevoice
I broke my boycott of CBS just to watch this interview. My disgust is renewed. Ed Bradley - well, what more can I say.
