There is a definite drive by the Left to expose and amplify fissures in Bush's base. Recently, the Left is trying to suggest that Bush has problems with the Miami Cubans--if true, he would never be able to carry FL. There is a lot of treachery going on. I don't doubt there is disillusionment, but not tot he degree that the Lef tis suggesting.

Whew. For a minute there, I was worried that Robert G. Butch Taylor would no longer be "involved in the local political arena".

I am sick and tired of the Republicans selling us down the river. The Republican Party is against slavery and always was. Of course, there is always someone somewhere insisting that having to pay taxes is a form of slavery, but taxes is what happens when idealism meets reality.

Yea, right.
A man without a plan that will send his vote down the drain and support a greater evil. I have absolutely no respect for this nonsense. I have grave problems with the 'pubs. Sorry, that is where I am at. However, I have far greater problems with the Marxist rats. The only way to deal with it is to eliminate the vermin first and then further define the remaining issues.
Then we can get it down to defining issues. Those that hold the position of the author are merely perpetuating the problem. They call it choosing the lessor of two evils. I call it choosing the closer to my belief, and then persuading to step closer to my position.
I find no honor in this position, but consider it a copout. Pray a little bit about it, and then get over it, then support the one who is closest to your belief. If not, support Nadar.
Blessings, Bobo

By golly, he's right.
The RNC does not agree with me on every single issue, so I'm going to send them a message.
I'm going to vote for the Constitution Party loser. That'll show 'em.
Or maybe I'll vote for the Get Offa Mah Land Party candidate;
or maybe the Southern Imperial Confederacy Party;
or the Freedom to Makes Moonshine and Marry Mah Cousins Party;
or the We Ain't Got No Teeth But At Least We Ain't Tri-Lateralists Party;
or the Black Helicopters Watchers Party;
or the Write Yer Own Consteetooshon Party.
Yeah. That'll stick it to 'em.

Screw principle. They've always been an embarrassment for us. Why vote for principle when it cannot win?
There is strength in numbers. That is more important than principle. It is more important to have strength, and numbers; than to be righteous, and alone.
Let conservatives have their principles. We are Republicans, and have power.

Once the democrat party is wiped off into the asheap of history, THEN such falling on swords manuver would have relevance.

Great idea! I vote we build a 90 foot double wall all around the US and top it with razor wire and sharp glass. We'll set up machine gun nests every hundred feet and let packs of dogs run between the walls. Anyone who tries to cross and is not eaten by the dogs will be gunned down.
Anyone wanting to import into America will have a 200% tariff applied to their goods to bring their costs up to snuff with American made products. And we'll get control over the nasty old profiteering corporations while we're at it. We'll tax the profits right out of them. Also, recommend assigning all babies born in the US a union card along with their social security card. Might as well bring them up right, right from the start.
And any US corporations that want to do business off shore, well, the best thing to do would be to revoke their charters and confiscate their assets. Give it over to the workers and allow them to run the plants. Don't need greedy CEOs and stockholders anyway. Totally useless and the profits they steal are a drain on needed resources for the workers.
Americans should all be constitutionally guaranteed their basic needs. For example, we should all be guaranteed health-care, housing, transportation, utilities and food... and a secure union or government job.
Down with free trade! Down with free markets! Down with risky competition and innovation! Down with foreigners! Vote America first!
Free beer for all!!

I am a card-carrying, dues-paying member of the Libertarian Party. I am disgusted with the growth of the federal government that has occurred under the Bush Admin. I am disgusted with the continuing prosecution of the failed Insane War on Some Drugs. I am suspicious of the focus on American citizens regarding the Patriot Act. I am troubled by the hysteria and threats of censorship over so-called "indecency" in media. I am frustrated by the reluctance of the administration to do anything about the out-of-control immigration problem, presence of millions of illegal aliens, and continued Balkanization of America by the advocates of "multiculturalism" and "diversity".
But I am still going to vote for George W. Bush in November.
The reason is crystal clear: we are at war with the most evil group of murderers the world has ever seen, and only the President has shown the moral clarity to continue to confront them and defeat them. This issue overrides anything else - a lying flip-flopper who had once mouthed Soviet propaganda, and has every intention to turn our national security over to the U.N. has no business becoming the President of the United States. Ever.
There is only one issue in this fall's presidential election: the continued existence of the United States of America.

Hey, I sympathize. I don't have anything, really, against those who become disillusioned and jump ship to the Constitution Party, Libertarian, et all.
I do think it's shooting yourself in the foot, ultimately, but I sympathize.
I'm also proud that most of the little parties are made up of "former" Repub's; it shows generally we as an idealogy are actually more open-minded (that phrase lib's love), and a bit more principled.
I suggest, after forming another party, that those parties - having organized some together w/people of like mind, preferably in you locale - re-enter the Repub as a sort of wing in the hopes of bringing it round to more conservative views w/a more focused effort.
The funny thing is, these parties are formed mostly by those who are disgruntled that the Repub's aren't more agressive and gutsy in insisting on their views; that is all. It's not really a different principle, it's a different approach that's hoped for. Alot of the "gov-growing" stuff Repub's have promulgated is both due to acquiescence in compromise, and just plain too much influence of the liberal mindset (hence, "we all" think having SS and income tax is just fine, but it's not; they're all socialist ideas). Get back in the ring and - w/an extra set of friends w/whom you've previously organized - try to counter the bad influences!

To all you that would attack someone for speaking out in dissent of the GOP, a few quotes:
In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate look to his character.... Noah Webster
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or you arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety" - Benjamin Franklin
Oh by the way Willie: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." - Dr. Martin Luther King
