For some reason, I am under the impression that all of the magic is done in perl rather then something more recent like php or the like.

I've often wondered what type of computing power and disk space and network bandwidth is needed to keep this site humming.

As you say - it is quite well done. Wonder if JR is a perl hacker!

I do know they wrote their own software. Probably would sell it for the right price too.
