We knew how to do this in 1960. 'Course, there were still some engineering problems to work out . . .
But imagine this: A ship the size of a modern aircraft carrier, with solid steel-plate shielding three feet thick, carrying a crew of hundreds, lifting off from the surface of the Earth by means of nuclear pulse engines and cruising to Mars in a week or two. I just can't get the image out of my head! The libs have cheated humanity again.
"Our motto was 'Mars by 1965, Saturn by 1970'", recalls Dyson (30).
