The people deserve the government they elect. Someday, maybe, people will wake up. The questioned is, will it be to late?

So we know supes can ban a caliber. Begs the question: What caliber does it take to ban a supe?

"Bill Tharp, a San Ramon resident and NRA member, called the restrictions a "ridiculous waste of time and money," especially with Contra Costa facing a possible $82.4 million shortfall next year."
Why aren't they devoting their time to fixing their busted budget? Are they hoping their efforts at misdirection will keep constituent heat off their collective butts?

(.50 caliber rounds cost roughly $3 apiece. That's a cost savings of $49,997.)
To: Skybird
Surely, .50 cal enthusiasts will go to another county to purchase their hardware and Contra Costa will lose out on the sales tax revenue (isn't it something like 8.5% in CA now?). Stooopid. And any terrorists will bring their own. Course their style is more fertilizer, TNT, or C-4. Even a 30-06 (say from a early 20th century bolt action) could wreak havoc in a refinery, to say nothing of more powerful cartridges that are still commonly used for hunting. (In Clancy's "Red Storm Rising", a handful of Islamic fundamentalists managed the feat with only a couple of AKs and the knowledge in their heads).

Now all they need to do is come out with a flashless powder. You know something that doesn't light up the entire range with each shot.

The logic is a bit hard to follow. Criminals may use firearms to commit crimes, therefore ban law abiding citizens from owning firearms to make us safer.

a weapon they say could transform a refinery into a fiery chemical weapon. They must be talking about a box of road flares.

The 19th. Amendment to the US Constitution [women's suffrage] repealed the 2nd Amendment. With all due respect to the Second Amendment Sisters, the majority of women in this country want to eliminate guns altogether. Just remember that when you vote.
