I heard it mentioned on the radio this morning that well before 9/11, Condi was on the lecture circuit talking about al qaeda and terrorism. That would directly contradict the Clarke lie that she never heard of al qaeda.

According to Rumsfeld, the Bush administration was trying to approach terrorism from a different angle as far back as March 2001. By that he meant, what policies and plans that were in place then, weren't refined enough.

Hannity played a tape of her comments about this that she made in early October 2000.

The minute I heard about Clarke's comment speculating she'd never heard of al Qaeda I thought to myself that there was most certainly documentation in the public record that could completely refute that absurd charge.

So you think that might be what Lowry is referring to? Could be, but I can't believe anybody seriously believed it so tend to think it might be something else.

****

It seems much more logical to me that Dr Rice gave Clarke a blank stare based on the utter stupidity of his remark to her at the time and date of the incident.
