Clarke is the alpha of megalomaniacs
He was scary. It was as if he alone could have saved the planet from terrorism. I now call him Dick Clarke-Kent for his superman image of himself.

That dude is this year's French boytoy, bought and paid for by French Viacom. Wonder what pittance he got for selling out his President and his country.

Good one!!! According to him, he was the be-all and end-all of everything that ever was about security and terrorism .. I had this image of him scurrying around .. wringing his hands because he was the ONLY one who really knew what was going to happen and the sky was always falling. Very scaaaaaaary person! What's disconcerting to me was that some of his comments were pretty believable and coherent, but then it was always about HIM .. people wouldn't believe HIM .. wouldn't listen to HIM .. like he was THE supreme commander of terrorist info, and then you have the conflicting positions, depending on who he was speaking to.
I liked Fred Fielding a lot .. and he made a huge point of pointing out the absurd dispecrepancies in Clarke's testimony before various commissions AND his public statements and book content after he quit.
