Wanted to keep an experienced counter terrorism team in place --- Clarke wasn't really demoted --- daily access to her --- later on because he wanted to move into the area of cyber security he became the director.

Condi Rice: "There are plenty of contradictions --- the resignation letter --- I had lunch with him a few weeks after he left and he never expressed his concerns about Iraq."
Hannity playing August 2002 audio tape of RIchard Clarke.
Condi Rice: "There are apparently two Dick Clarkes here."

I was looking for another thread on my bookmarks when I happened upon this gem written soon after September 11.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/530815/posts It has quotes from Jamie Gorelick and John Kerry to name just a few. See below.

Clinton aides admit little done to foil terrorism
Policy: Despite much anger, the administration didn't follow through on threats to target bin Laden.

So, I take it you are not a Condi fan... Too bad you spend your time here on a public forum. Your talents are going to waste, since you so obviously know what Condi should and should not be doing.

Condi Rice: "The assertion that the Bush administration wasn't paying attention is JUST FALSE."
Hannity: "Lehman said Clarke had credibility problem. Is this about selling the book?:
Condi Rice: "I can't say what his motives are but you can't have it both ways...Either we did nothing or we acted upon the ideas that the Clinton administration had not acted upon."

You know what I love about this? The Bush administration, gave Clarke, CBS/Viacom/Simon & Schuster and the rest of the media, INCLUDING THE 9/11 commission just enough rope....to all jump on Dick Clarke's bandwagon. They gave them just enough time to all align themselves, including the ridiculous Roemer reference's to Clarke's book thoughout the hearings......and then......KABOOOM!
To: arasina
She's doing a great job AND just slammed the Clinton administration. :-)
Charlie Rangel is going to refute her, but he's just going to lie,as we all know.

Would you have to kill us?
To: Angelwood
WOW........great find. :-)
To: Dog
Dog, Condi Rice is on Hannity right now refuting what Clarke is saying right now on Larry King. You'll catch up

I'm going to say one more thing, just to lift the spirits of some of you who STILL think Clarke is someone to worry about.
Just a couple questions:
How far back do you suppose the Bush Administration archives their email?
How much email do you suppose Clarke would have sent during his time in the Administration?
Sleep well, everyone.

If anyone has a "deaf ear", it's you.
Condi has been out there, a lot,but I guess that you would rather imagine things, then pay attention to what is really happening in the real world.
To: Pukin Dog
Thanks for the info. :-)
Oh yes, and your blowup doll is in the mail.

Thank you. Now I think I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Thanks! I say we rise up - the anti-Bush crowd has had the streets for long enough. It should be our turn now. And we need to bombard the media every single day. Too many just sit and whine and do NOTHING. President Bush is counting on us and I hope people will respond quickly.
To: faithincowboys
Many people now think that Bush fell down on the job --I hate to break it to you, but they do not. The only ones who think that thought it before these hearings.

Don't forget The Impeached One's book is due out this summer. Yeah, his and a whole slew of others. If we don't defend President Bush against all this trash, we are worthless.
