Did he testify today? Pretty powerful testimony IMO.

***Objections to preemption similar to those voiced before the coalition launched Operation Iraqi Freedom would have been raised, he said. "History shows it can sometimes take a tragedy like Sept. 11 to awaken the world to new threats and the need for action," the secretary said.***

This is a key point. AFTER 9/11, we have the criticism of the naysayers, partisan hacks, and peaceniks leveled against the war against Iraq. Can you imagine the flood of protests that would have confronted W if he had invaded Afghanistan BEFORE 9/11?

There's also talk from the left that we should have taken OBL out with a "surgical" strike. The Israelis just surgically took out another terrorist, and the Europeans are marching the streets against ISRAEL!!! (Why don't they ever march in the streets when some doped up Palestinian kid blows himself and five Jews into smithereens.)

These Democrats are hawks on steroids, but only for the 9 month interval leading up to 9/11. Before and after, they are pacifists. This doesn't make sense, and the RNC needs to pound this home. Similarly, it doesn't make sense for Al-Kerry to say he would have built more of a coalition to attack Iraq in Gulf War II, while having voted AGAINST Gulf War I, which involved the mother of all international coalitions.

It was; but seeimingly lost on the viewer responses on the follow-up on C-Span; though I only listened to the first four or so. . .could not stand it.

I hope there are more astute reasoned minds out there.
