They hate him because he's a good man. It's just that simple. They like people who are morally lax, because it makes them feel better about themselves.

BTW, they also hated Ronald Reagan.

True, SOME hated Reagan, but there were lots who didn't. Many lefties from what I recall simply didn't like his politics. But then there were some who were drawn to him and even if they never got to vote for him (my best friend being 1 - we were teens then), they sort of felt in the end like they would. My best friend (being raised Democrat) said she was sad to see him go - that he made her feel good about being American! Shock! I guess eventually the "flag-waving" gets to you! (LOL)

I think frankly I've seen more real hatred for Reagan *since* he left office - perhaps it was a retro-reaction to our hatred for Clinton...
