Arafat: Passion of the Christ 'impressive'

Yasser Arafat watched Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ on Saturday, and afterward a top aide compared Jesus' pain during crucifixion to the suffering of Palestinians in the conflict with Israel.
Nabil Abu Rudeneh, one of Arafat's closest advisers, watched the film along with the veteran Palestinian leader and a group of American and European Christians and Palestinian Muslim clerics.
"The Palestinians are still daily being exposed to the kind of pain Jesus was exposed to during his crucifixion," Abu Rudeneh said in a statement after he viewed the movie.
Arafat, who watched the film on a small TV set in his Ramallah office, said the movie was "historic and impressive."
The visiting Christians, Anglicans and Protestants, were from the United States, Canada and Britain, said Palestinian legislator Hannan Ashrawi, who also viewed the film. Arafat's office did not further identify the delegation.
Gibson's film graphically depicts Christ's final hours. The film has been a huge box office success, bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars in its first two weeks in theatres in the United States and Canada.
The film has sparked controversy, and some Jews have said the movie will fuel anti-Semitism because it unfairly portrays Jews as the main force behind Jesus' crucifixion. Other critics have said the film is overly violent.

What a bunch of BS!
"compared Jesus' pain during crucifixion to the suffering of Palestinians in the conflict with Israel,,, The Palestinians are still daily being exposed to the kind of pain Jesus was exposed to during his crucifixion,"
Wonder what it's like to be on a bus that blows up on your way to work, that does not matter?
Wonder what it's like to be sitting in a restaurant, and suddenly there is a huge bloody explosion,,,
And, did they notice, there were NO "Palestinians" in the movie?
Because there weren't any yet, only Jews and Romans, "Palestinians" had not been invented yet.

I mean, we KNEW he was going to say that, right? It's calculated to piss off Jews and pander to Christians. Oh yeah, Yasser, you suffer just like Jesus. (Now, go all the way with it, and I'll really be impressed)
I'm just surprised he was able to see it so soon. Who slipped him the bootleg?

Muslims do not believe Jesus was crucified...

Because I converted to Judaism (husband is Jewish, I was Catholic) I do'nt much like to get in discussions about the movie, but this B.S. from the Father of Terrorism made me SICK!!! Arafat is so full of it! I know, he has a Christian wife but he is nothing but an antisemitic terrorist PIG.

Muslims do not believe Jesus was crucified... Apparently Arafat is rejecting the Quranic account...

Muslims do not believe Jesus was crucified... Sure about that? I thought they considered him a prophet, along the lines of Moses, but just not the son of God, nor a part of the Triune God, which they also don't believe in. "There is only one God and Muhammad is His prophet" is their central tenant... other than having sex with young girls, or preferably young boys, and at need with animals, and treating their women like chattel.

In the Mohammedan religion, it's OK to decieve non-Mohammedans for the purpose of furthering the Mohammedan agenda.
They know Arafat is playing to a non-Mohammedan, Western crowd.

I'll tell you what impressive, Yasser:
1) The fact that you're still breathing air (and breaking wind).
2) Your fat bank personal account ($200 million, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer).
3) How you've managed to convince the Palestinian people that you give a crap about their welfare.

...we KNEW he was going to say that, right? It's calculated to piss off Jews and pander to Christians.... Exactly. More PLO BS, use anything to try to split US-Israeli supporters. This from the same scumbags that holed up in the Church of the Naivety trying to get the Israelis bomb the church and anger Christians.

He has been shown the way of Salvation repeatedly by some real heavy-weight Christians.
He's obviously choosing allegiance with satan over any other thing. . .
except, perhaps bonking his guards nightly in the bumm.
But I suppose rebellion of that sort would fit with the author of rebellion, too.
