For him to be snowboarding and say he never falls is BS. I'm not pro, but I can hold my own and I still manage to fall from time to time. I'm no snowboarder (I am a snowplow-level skiier who learned back when everybody's skis were 8 feet long . . . I fall CONSTANTLY and get run over by hotdogging boarders . . . :-p ) but I have ridden horses all my life -- if you don't fall, you're playing it WAY too safe to learn anything.

I've only been boarding for two seasons (I'm not a hotdoggin boarder though:). I took a class to get some extra practice, and I agree that if you're not falling, you're playing it way too safe and not having any fun. I'll go off (little) jumps and I haven't quite figured how to land so I am always falling. But it's the best part.
My dad's been skiing for years, and even he falls from time to time.
