I suppose that's possible, but it seems doubtful that, if it had been a crucial piece if information that made the whole capture operation possible, it would have been let out in advance of the capture.
My personal theory is that the release of that information was part of some sort of mind game that we were playing, perhaps with Saddam, or perhaps (more likely) with people who were supplying him or protecting him. Or it might have been part of some even more obscure agenda. I just remember at the time thinking, "hmmm... why in the world would they make intelligence of that nature public." I wish I could remember the source of that information; was it Reuters, or Debka, or some main-stream media outlet?
