Maybe, but I saw the same effect with a large Perseid about five years ago. It was the only audible terminating explosion I've ever heard for a meteor. A couple of years ago I saw a naked-eye fireball -- I thought it was a flare, because it was BRIGHT red and white.

I'm giving it AT LEAST another 24 hours.

There MAY BE a CIA/Bush/Cheny/Rummy trick afoot.

I'd advise against outside activities.

They say many don't even notice when they pass, just like that Bruce Willis movie. Wouldn't hurt to ask now and then. :)

"Consider that two-thirds of the surface is ocean, which would mean the only evidence of such a hitg would be tidal waves. We might have no knowledge of the Siberian hit except for a few curious scientists. It wasn't even suspected of being a meteorite or comet until the 1950s."

The midnight sky in London was bright enough to read the newspaper after the Tunguska event.

That would make John Garfield one very happy dead man.

I don't think so, because I never heard of 'Between Two Worlds'.

He died 'in the saddle', so to speak. The first I ever heard of him was when a broker I used to work with set me up with one of his clients. We were in a cab to her place and she told me that it was he grandmother who was 'with' him at the time of his passing. That didn't last long enough for me to find out if that was true, or if she inherited any 'special talents' from grandma. ;-)

Good graphic. Just to put it in perspective for you, the current Earth-Moon distance is: 377,819.69 kilometers or 234,766.271 miles. This asteroid came considerably closer!
