UN administrators flee Kristallnacht | 23:46 | B92
PRISTINA -- Wednesday UN administrators have abandoned offices in the Kosovo towns of Gnjilane, Prizren and Pec, fleeing what one UNMIK official described to B92 as Kristallnacht.
Kristallnacht is under way in Kosovo, the official told B92 on condition of anonymity.
What is happening in Kosovo must unfortunately be described as a pogrom against Serbs: churches are on fire and people are being attacked for no other reason than their ethnic background, he added.
Serbs and UN officers have been the target of attacks by Kosovo Albanians during most of the day and night. The most dramatic withdrawal was from Belo Polje on the outskirts of Pec, where UNMIK officials, retreating with Serb residents, where forced to shoot Albanian assailants in self-defence.
The Serbian Orthodox seminary in Pec has been razed, and Albanians celebrated its destruction by setting fire to the local church., said the UN official.

I pray that your information is correct -- when Siobhan was on her hiatus from FR -- it was sorely lacking a great mind and a great person who ascribes to the real Conservatism of this world!
Her brief sentence that caused her sentencing to being ostracized here was no more than could be verified as truth, as we know.
The Muslims were the direct descendents of the Jewish Faith, but totally heretical.
The Crusades were generated by the persecution of Christians in the Mid-East by these who were spawned by a madman's interpretation of what was God's Rule. Their hatreds and tactics have spread and infected our entire world today with terror, generated by their "religion" which is beyond our scope of understanding.
The Ibrahaim's among them will attest to their common ancestry in Judaism from days of yore.

Well, they are beginning to avenge Lepanto, eh?
Next they will take revenge on Poland for Sobieski's triumph over them...

You and I both share some doubts about the "explanation" of the Socialist victory.
My own theory is that they won because the old regime failed to prevent the attack. Funny how that happens...

I am grateful for the supportive posts on this thread, and as one can see, I am able to post again.
I have learned a great deal from this experience today, and it is instructive to be misjudged, to be called an anti-Semite, and to have one's words called anti-Semitic. All of this seems to be a given when the spirit of the age trumps everything else.
The moderator's comments to me upon banning me did not bring me undiluted joy, as one might imagine, but my daughter Mairead announced that we should all go to Adoration and thank Jesus for this little cross. So following this extraordinary child we went and did just that. I thank Jesus for this little cross today.

Too bad about the Serbs - we were bombing the wrong people. But then Clinton was in power - the guy who helped that commie Aristide.
If we had treated the Serbs well, my guess is they would have been ONE European power more than willing to help run down Al Quaida and its cronies in Iraq.
I hope the U.N. leaves, and the Serbs resurrect themselves and exterminate or convert every single Muslim polluting the sacred soil of Kosovo.

"It's debatable whether the Spanish vote was an indication of their fear/appeasement instincts or was simply a reaction to being lied to by Anzar about Eta's involvement in the terrorist act."BS!
That is more rationalization, more leftist justification, more crap dumped into the stream of absolute proof that the west is in retreat....and apparently enjoying it.

Are Maronites the Lebanese Catholics? If not, what is the word that defines them...I think it is something similar?

I just followed your saga right now, and am glad you are back.
I am afraid this is yet another sign that this site might have seen it's best days already.

Yes...some are called Phalange as well but that it is a political term.
There are (were before the Shiites took over most of Lebanon) Greek Catholics and Greek Orthodox as well in the Lebanese Phalange. (there are Phalangists in Spain as well just to further confuse anyone..lol)
I am distantly descended from early 1800s Maronites. There are many Maronite descendents in the South with the family surname Thomas....my maternal grandfather's surname.
PS:....lots of Syrian Maronites in the South as well....in the merchant class.....Simons, Iupes, Saabs, Sykes, Avalons, lots of names that end in -ish like Hankish.
