It would be wonderful if we could take down Specter. It would send a resounding message to the RINOs that it doesn't matter how entrenched you are, if you betray us we will come after you and toss you out.
Just getting within 10 points puts Toomey in a position where he can claim a lot more votes - the votes of the folks that would vote for him if they thought he had a chance, but previously thought he had no chance.

That's exactly it, Thoughtomator. Undecided voters will flock to Toomey, as well as those who are only supporting Arlen because they think Toomey is fifty points out.
