I wish we could find a way to remove nasty posts without deleting them from the person's posting history. It allows them to spew their stuff, then it or the whole thread gets pulled (which itself is my answer to those who keep saying "ignore it"), and they are not held accountable.

At least leaving the placeholder "removed by moderator" posts viewable in their history would help people who argue that someone was banned 'unfairly'. If all the really bad bannable posts are gone, what is left always looks innocuous. "All he said was "good morning!"
