That was your choice of wording, not mine.
It is intended as a place for like-minded conservatives
Like minded being Republican, not conservative. There is a wide chasm of a difference between the two anymore and you know it.
For instance, you might say I'm unfair to anyone who tries to rob me of my God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and or of my rights to freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of religion, right to keep and bear arms, etc, etc, etc. These people are domestic enemies of the constitution and I don't want them around.
Why would I say that? If I did that would make me a Democrat or (for the majority) a Republican.
I'm probably also unfair to anyone whose ideas are repugnant to me. Examples: (not meant to be an exclusive list) communists, nazis, fascists, skin-heads, white supremacists, white separatists, white nationalists, anti-semites, religious bigots, racists, etc, etc. I simply do not want to be associated with these types.
Fantastic, I don't fall into any of those categories even remotely. No problem there.
And to varying degrees, I'm probably also unfair to those who are tying to erode away our traditional American freedoms and way of life to advance their own political agendas. Examples: socialists, liberals, progressives, democrats, RHINOs, abortionists, feminists, homosexualists, atheists, environmentalists, one-worlders, anti-war peaceniks, pacifists, gun-grabbers, UN lovers, America haters, God haters, etc, etc, etc.
Again, not one of those descriptions describes me in the least.
And you might say I'm probably unfair to DUh trolls, anti-FReeper trolls, Euro-trolls, obscenity trolls, cyber vandals, stalkers, disruptors, etc, etc, etc.
Once again, nothing applies, but by now you get the point.
And you might possibly say that I favor people who have been with FR for a long, long time, even though we may no longer see eye to eye on certain issues, but because we've been through the wars together there is a kinship bond and a certain camaraderie, etc, so, yeah, they're probably gonna get some leeway and may not receive a ban or a suspension quite as quickly as an errant newbie.
And here is the crux of the matter. Camaraderie is great, up to the point where it becomes silliness. What you allow nopardons to get away with is ridiculous. I have a very, very, very thick skin. However, I have read the most vile and putrid things written from this lady (and I use this term very lightly) over and over again with no consequences whatsoever. You want people to follow your rules here? I have no problem with that. Just make sure you spell them out for all to understand and not just a chosen few. If you want people to rally to your cause, don't create sixth grade cliques. Nobody liked them at twelve and no one needs to join them now.
Give us all an example of "vile and putrid". Is it anything like "and I use that term very lightly"?
Ridiculous. FR has always been a place for like minded conservatives. I vote for the person that best represents my views. Sometimes that's an independent, it's never a Democrat, and more than likely it's a Republican. Doesn't make the two equal. I'll vote against a RINO if his ideals are no different than a liberal.
As to your whining about one poster you don't like and see as "getting away" with things, you need to broaden your horizon. I could name dozens. FR has more than it's share of knee-jerkers that fly off the handle with all kinds of choice words for someone just posting an idea for discussion.
As in all words and ideas, every single one of us has written something and got several posts calling us complete idiots while others totally agree. When someone calls me a total moron, I usually (not always), just move on and remind myself to ignore them. In many cases, it's just something misunderstood and later I can be posting to them on another thread. Some I'll get into a tit for tat and that usually ends on it's own or a moderator says stop and I do.
But if anything I've learned, it's not my forum. It's not my equipment. It's not my domain. I accept the rules, like them or not.
Well, gee, if Jim bans cliques, where, oh, where will you go to puff yourself as the moral schoolmarm?
You carp just as much under THAT screen name as you did under your last one.
Care to offer a couple of examples, or are you simply following the clowder? If you find yourself unhappy on this forum,I'm sure there might be others you'd find more to your tastes.
