Search is not a perfect tool. I have best results using just a single keyword from the title, eg Kerry, Bush, Syria, etc. I also sort by Title(date) which brings the most recent threads to the top of the list of posts found. Make sure the word you use to search for is more than 3 characters

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try your suggestions--just seems there'd be a more inclusive way to search similar to "Google". Since I know zip about how these things work, I'm sure my request falls under "easier said than done". Thanks again.
