What do you all wish to see in front page? We've been trying to keep it to not quite breaking news, but it seems as if everyone wants their story in front page since most know the thread will be removed from breaking news. Front page has become the default breaking news catagory for many. Suggestions are welcome.

You're right...I think people do want Front Page to be their de facto Breaking News. I view Front Page as being stuff that you'd find in the newspaper that isn't cutting edge, hot-off-the-press news that's happening NOW, but isn't specifically on the Editorial or Religion pages. News or items of interest, but not fluff. I'd like Caption-A-Rama to go into either Front Page--as it is political/topical humor, or at least into Editorial/Opinion. Thanks.

News. Period. No "caption the pic" threads, those belong in Vanity/Opinions, or some such. No vanities, no editorials, just news. It doesn't have to be "cutting edge" news, we ought to allow odd stories and events, but it ought to be news.

While we're on the topic, Breaking News needs a relook as well. We've had stuff still showing in Breaking News that's 5 day old. Breaking News should be a little less heavily policed. If you are getting articles that are 3-5 days old still showing in the Breaking category, then we're missing the point of "breaking news".

That's JMO. ;-)
