Question.... Why do so many smart people on FR get completely flummoxed by where "chat" is, and why do those who can find it feel insulted to be forced to go there? Thread titles from chat today:

So, am I insulted when my news photo and commentary thread, which is described by fans as "informative" almost as often as it's described as "funny," is moved to a place where people are captioning cat photos and discussing college roundball?
No.
Am I bloody-well bull-moose mystified?

Am I even more mystified when I ask the mods more than once (nicely) for the courtesy of an explanation and don't get one?

Contrary to the opinion of some here on FR, I'm not stupid. I KNOW where Chat is. But I also rarely go there, because it's 98% drivel.
The Useful Idiot Caption-A-Rama is better content than half of the Front Page "news" items. People that don't often delve into the backwaters of Chat should get a chance to see the thread before it's whisked off to outer darkness.
Maybe a high-bandwidth warning in the title would help the baud-challenged?

I think threads which directly relate to political or cultural liberalism & conservatism, like Mr. Silverback's useful idiot galleries, ought to be kept in News/Activism.
