>>Can't anybody here play this game? <<
Apparently you aren't able to.
>>No, Heinz does not own TGIFridays. Heinz does not own Boston Market either. <<
Gee, then why do you suppose Heinz lists those two WITH pictures of their logo's on the officiarl Heinz website at:
http://www.heinz.com/jsp/index_default.jsp ??? Are you suggesting Heinz Corp. is lying about their products?
>>And in any case, <<
"And in any case"??? So, you knew what you just said was a lie and thought you could pass it off? OR you just wrote your statements as fact without knowing what the facts are?
>>Theresa Heinz Kerry doesn't have anything to do with Heinz. <<
How would you know? You don't know how to spell her name or even what her Legal name is so how would you know what she has to do with Heinz. FYI she heads the Heinz Endowment Fund which gives millions away every year. Where do you suppose she gets that money from? Maybe...from sales from Heinz products?
>>This is probably the worst thread I have ever seen on Free Republic in terms of people shooting BS into the air without having the slightest idea what they're talking about. <<
As I just demonstrated, that would be you. "But in any case" you don't have to read this thread if it bothers your sensitivities or hurts your feelings.
>>This one ought to come with a warning label: "Half the stuff you'll read on this thread is useless blather posted by people who can't be bothered to check whether what they say is true."<<
Try again, fella. Come back when you've done your homework.

Come back when you've done your homework. Here's a hint. Don't ever bet I haven't.
First, let's stop off at the Boston Market site, where we find this line:
Boston Market Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of McDonald's Corporation.
We also find this:
Additional convenient dining options are available with the Boston Market line of frozen entrees and jarred gravies. They're manufactured by H.J. Heinz Company, one of the world's leading marketers of branded foods to supermarkets. Boston Market's agreement with H.J. Heinz Company gives customers more choices and makes the Boston Market brand more accessible.
The same thing is described here, which says,
The frozen line of premium meals is made available through an exclusive global licensing agreement.
So now we know why Heinz has Boston Market stuff on their web site. They don't own the company, McDonald's does. They manufacture the frozen food line under license. That's it.
We're not done yet, are we? We still have your claim that Heinz owns TGI Friday's. Once again, a good place to start is on Friday's web site, where we find out that TGI Friday's does have a corporate parent, and it is Carlson Foods, a Dallas-based restaurant company.
You don't know how to spell her name or even what her Legal name is so how would you know what she has to do with Heinz.
Yeah, and you typed this: "their logo's on the officiarl Heinz website." Shall we play Dueling Typos now, or stick to whether you were correct in telling people that Heinz owns these companies?
As I just demonstrated...
What you demonstrated is that you went to the Heinz web site, saw a couple of logos, and jumped to the conclusion that Heinz owned the companies. You then told a bunch of Freepers that Heinz owns these companies, when in fact they do not.
Now you have returned to offer us Proof By Louder Assertion. But you still don't have anything that shows Heinz owns the companies. This while the companies themselves say otherwise.
The assertion that the Heinz company in some way funds Mrs. Kerry's endeavors is not mine. I do not need to prove a negative. The people advocating that others boycott this company have an obligation to make sure that they are not encouraging people to do something stupid and maybe even counterproductive. So far they have not offered one shred of evidence that this company has anything to do with her. Instead, someone emailed them and got a reply, from which we learn
Since [1987], no Heinz family member has been employed by the H.J. Heinz Company or associated with its Board of Directors... The Heinz Family Endowments - the philanthropic arm of the Heinz family is chaired by Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry. Mrs. Kerry and the Heinz family trusts and endowments are not significant shareholders of H.J. Heinz Company. Neither Sen. John Kerry nor Teresa Heinz Kerry is involved in the management of H.J. Heinz Company. Additionally, there is no connection between H.J. Heinz Company Foundation and the Heinz Family Endowments. Any comments or presentations made by Senator Kerry and Mrs. Heinz Kerry reflect their personal views. Because they are not affiliated with H.J. Heinz Company, they do not speak on behalf of its management or employees. No portion of Heinz product proceeds goes to any political candidate.
Please... enough of sending innocent Freepers off on a stupid wild goose chase in the name of "activism." There's plenty of real stuff that needs to be accomplished. This boycott is absolutely not one of them. Such a boycott hurts perfectly innocent people. It also makes Free Republic look like a den of wild-eyed jerks who shoot first and ask questions later. We do not need that.
