JMT: I believe that discernment is what is required, for every negative there is a positive, and for every positive there is a negative.
Qx: AM INCLINED TO GREATLY AGREE. Thanks.

Here are some comments on the topic from a character I have some respect for:
So I take it that this Stargate SG1 item is a movie, right?
[I guess he doesn't watch Sci Fi channel TV!]
I first learned of the many-worlds hypothesis a few years after I got out of college, but immediately I knew it to be true; I think all of us experience little minor instances of shifts from one to another of them at times, sometimes more major ones, as perhaps to avoid disasters that are just meant to be right at that time and the like.
Time travel ought to be theoretically possible, and I know it has been a very big deal to govt black-op research ever since the Phila experiment of 1943 and the Montauk events of the 70s/early 80s.
Like you I believe that Jesus will be the only rock of stability we will have to cling to if we go on into the utterly incomprehesible things that will manifest in the final generation, which IMHO has already begun.
PS. A cycle or "generation" [Hebrew "dor"] is not a vague period of time -- it does have an astronomical referENT, namely, the revolution of Saturn in some 29.4 to 29.5 years... I saw something recently that said that this is the actual true length of the mysterious "weeks" [i.e. 69 "weeks" of Daniel 9] and thus, 69 times the Saturn period reach from the manifestation of Messiah the first time, till his manifestation the second time. [I SAW it, didn't say I accepted it, it will require much more study...] Saturn is a very important object in QBLH and ancient Hebrew astronomy.
Perhaps more later, before I write a book on that.
