NBC might issue an "apology" to appease those of us who are offended, but the fact that they let it air speaks volumes. (They rehearse for a full week, certainly the brass knew what the content of the show would be.)
They don't care if they offend Christians...but you can BET YOUR SWEET --- they would NEVER have aired a show attacking Muhammad that way. NEVER!!! They would NEVER have aired a show attacking the Jewish faith--NEVER!!! Once again, it's okay to be blatantly Anti-Christian. They've gone past the point of no return.
ANYONE HAVE A LIST OF SPONSORS OF LAST NIGHT'S SHOW??? I'd like to contact them and tell them I won't be buying their products if they continue to sponsor SNL.
To: Hillarys Gate Cult
Hammond has been on the last couple of weeks only as Clinton in guest appearances and they didn't even give him a thank you at the end of either show. Hammond is still a full-time member of the cast. Check the opening credits.

"A few weeks ago Tina Fey wouldn't shut up with the Bush insults during the 'news' segment, just totally drove it into the ground and killed what humor they had built with the live audience."I find it hard to believe Fey, the 'news" segment and SNL in it's entirety can rely on a "live audience" to laugh at anything anymore.
I just assume the "APPLAUSE" and "LAUGH NOW" signs lights must be flashed on constantly for reaction.
Everyone already knows SNL is merely just embarrassingly unfunny.

"What difference does it make what SNL thinks or portrays about The Passion or Mel Gibson? They are free to depict the Sacred as vile, to call good, evil, to mock Catholics and Christians to their wretched hearts' content. We as Catholics..."So as an "enlightened" Catholic you would have no objection to an SNL skit depicting the Pope simulating "fooling around" with a little boy?
We all recognize satire when we see it, but is nothing "sacred"?
To: F16Fighter
I find it hard to believe that you could infer from my post that I would find your potential Pope skit inoffensive.
What I said was I wouldn't be scrounging around looking for an apology. How about tuning the whole bloody show out? How about that? Instead of sitting around watching a program whose whole point is to gore somebody's ox, and then being offended to the point of demanding an apology when it's your ox.
An apology from the creators of the actual skit, and/or the potential one you dreamed up would mean nothing. They are free to do as they please, I am free to disregard them. I am free to know they're cretins.
If enough people are insensed and that redounds to punitive damages, good. If not, I don't want to see Catholics and/or reps of the Church running around acting like weak little girls whining and demanding an apology that is worthless, as if we're made of nothing solid.

Are you trying to Catholic Bash?
why don't you keep to the subject matter and realize just as many married PROTESTant ministers did the same thing to boys and girls.

SNL has been awful for decades. If they had any originality, they would have used my idea and done a 'Passion' blooper reel - you know, cell phone goes off and everyone laughs, Judas wearing a wristwatch and a continuity production assistant comes by to take it away, flubbing aramaic lines and laughing, lapsing into english and bleeping out some cuss words, Mary Magdaline getting her dress caught on a doorway or something revealing her in a state of undress, and my most controversial 'hey, you can see our hotel from up here.' gag.
Then you would have been really offended!

It seems to me not long ago the Catholic priesthood was rocked by allegations of sexual abuse and the hierarchy doing their best to cover it up.
All I was doing was making an observation.
Now be a good boy and sit back down, or else I will have put you in front of the class with a dunce cap on your head.

That show is still playing? Sweet jesus, why?? It hasn't been funny since the late 90's!
I have selected your remarkable comment for reply. Now let's see if I got it right. You don't watch the show, but you know it hasn't been funny since the 90s. Do you do movie and book reviews also?

Somehow I doubt its comedic skills have improved since Bubba's impeachment. Threads like these only validate my statement.

You think that was bad----see Howard Stern's website. This Stern is out of control. He needs to re-think his self importance by having the FCC stand him in the corner with a huge fine. Howard...when the big guy says your time is up--he means it.

What lame dialogue.
No need to repeat it here.
We don't care about SNL.
And we don't care about you.
The tipoff was when you called our fearless Presidant "The Shrub".
Go back to DU, you maroon!

Hold on a second. I have read this entire thread, and have seen multiple people who have indicated that the FCC should do something about this skit because of the insult to our Lord and Savior.
There is no question that anyone with a strong faith would regard the comparison of the story of Jesus to Humpty Dumpty (a fable) to be troubling. Certainly this was a response from the less faith-based (agnostic?) viewpoint in response to the Passion of the Christ hubbub.
As conservatives, however don't we believe in SNL's freedom to express that view? Do we really think that their programming, and anyone else subject to FCC or other government review, should be restricted to what is considered supportive of Christianity, or at minimum palatable to Christians?
That's not exactly in line with Amendment #1 is it? Regardless of whether you find it humorous or not.

I don't think not watching the show should stop you from posting an opinion on how funny it is. That doesn't stop people on many threads here. LOL!

Thoughtomator,
You Posted this comment to me...
"If you believe in Jesus as the Messiah, you are not Jewish, but are in fact Christian. Just FYI." And WHERE Sir, is Your Proof of this?
This is YOUR OPINION, NOT A FACT.
If You were Born of Irish Catholic Parents and You Became a Protestant...then would that make YOU a British, French or ITALIAN Protestant?
NO IT WOULD NOT!
SO...DO NOT Presume to make me Less than a JEW and insult my Parents, Heritage and Roots.
I am a JEW, and IF I Choose to become a Believer of Buddism or follower of Wica would I then Loose my JEWISHNESS?
NO, I Would NOT, I would Still Have The Same JEWISH BLOOD flowing in my Veins and Genetic make up.
SO...Mr. Thoughtomator...You'd Better THINK AGAIN and Come Up with a Better THOUGHT and Argument!

What I will say, however, is we need to get a hold of their sponsors and tell them to drop their sponsorship because SNL has gone too far and they should not be buying up commercial time for a show that is decidedly anti-Christian, lest they face a boycott.
