BHUJ, MARCH 19: Two ships collided head-on near Sikka port in the Gulf of Kutch on Friday, splitting one of them in half. The Coast Guard rescued 19 crew members aboard the latter.
The collision, the first along the 1,600-km Gujarat coastline, occurred northwest of Sikka port in Jamnagar. The MV Delta reached Kandla on Tuesday from Fujiarah port in the UAE to unload naphtha at oil jetty number 2. It left the port on Friday and was near the entry point to the Gulf when it collided with another foreign flagship — APL Busan — on its way to Mundra port.
The collision broke the Delta in two while Busan was not damaged, Chief Nautical Officer of Gujarat Maritime Board S.C. Mathur said. Nineteen crew members on the Delta were rescued. ‘‘We sent our craft to get them to the port for treatment and to provide other assistance through the ship’s Kandla agents,’’ Captain H.K. Sibal, Deputy Conservator of Kandla port, said.

Sibal, who rushed to Kandla from Gandhidham, blamed the accident on ‘‘foggy weather’’ but said there was no spillage as the oil tanker was empty. ‘‘This is not unusual. During bad weather, ships do collide. Luckily, there was no loss of life or any kind of spill.’’

This may be all part of a 'beautiful plan' unfolding. Both articles mention 'naphtha' either directly or by inference(petrochemical reformate). Careful with the cigarettes, guys. 100 gal/min x 60 min/hr = 6000 gal./hr
One might see the Houston channel from Oklahoma City tonight.
On a side note, I really got a classical gas from the report about the person who got his ears cut off. Talk about oldies but goldies from the Dark Ages. Obviously, he now will have trouble hearing the call to prayer, Allah will be displeased by this failing and punish him in accordance. Perhaps our SOF guys and gals might might mull this old time religious practice over and see if they have any applications
