Thanks for the info. The smoke was mustard colored. Hoping it was just an electrical fire- the inspectors had no masks on- but then why were they searching inside the train, from car to car? Oh well. Hopefully all are ok.

I misread your post. I thought you had the problem leaving NYC going back home - I realize it's the other way around. Tomorrow is definitely going to be chaotic with the antiwar people. I just heard Commissioner Kelley talking about it on the radio. They'll probably be out in riot gear.

Has anyone realized, that today was an example of how easy it is to stop transportation?

What if it had been an emergency?

What if there had been thousands in line there, all desperate to leave town?

And yes, like many of you, it is a gray day, with thoughts of what may be coming to us.
