Final 2 Bodies Found After Chopper Crash

Tue Mar 30,12:07 PM ET

By PAM EASTON, Associated Press Writer

HOUSTON - The bodies of the final two missing passengers aboard a helicopter that vanished a week ago in the Gulf of Mexico with 10 people aboard have been recovered, authorities said Tuesday.

The bodies of Jason Petitjean, 34, of Rayne, La., and Jeff Langley, 42, of Kountze, Texas, were recovered late Monday night from the Gulf's floor.

"It's a sad relief would be the way to put it," said Christine LeLaurin, a spokeswoman for Unocal, the California-based oil company that chartered the helicopter.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board has retrieved most of the wreckage needed to complete the probe, agency spokeswoman Lorenda Ward said.

It could take up to 18 months for a final report on the crash, which is being investigated by the NTSB and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The helicopter took off from an airfield in Galveston and was headed to a drill ship near South Padre Island. The aircraft was 90 miles south of Galveston when the pilot made his last radio contact.

Remains of four people and a life vest were found a day later floating in the Gulf. Another four bodies were located Friday.

'Illegals' details incidents of Mexican bullets targeting Americans

The incidents in this article, as well as all the others that have happened, are obscene. Our government [yes Bush] is obscene in their complicity, all because of their fear of angering the Mexican vote. [Yes I said Mexican vote on purpose since we all know illegals can easily vote now in some places.]

Fox expels British explorers and verbally thrashes them like he has the power of a sultan over the west....I guess he does!! We just cower and allow our country to be destroyed from within and literally attacked from without, by illegal immigrants and criminals crossing the Mexican border, afraid to take a stand for fear of "public outcry."

Even freepers on here have told me, "So you want to make a misdemeanor [illegally entering the country] a capital crime [by shooting those attempting to cross which would solve the problem over night]?" I reponded that, yes, I did think that invaders to our country should be treated as warriors and yes they should be shot. Nothing else will work. You can not "contain" a Russian jet fighter inbound to the Kitty Hawk now can you. You have to shoot it down. So with immigration. The effect is the same.

This country has, is, and will continue to allow ITSELF to be destroyed, just as Kruschev said. By electing our incompetent leaders [lawyers, all]....we deserve our fate.
By continuing to support, by our silence, the slaughter of over 40 million innocent babies via abortion, we deserve our fate.
Folks, we aren't as innocent here as we think.

The leftist fascism of Hiler is dwarfed by the leftist fascism of abortion. By contrast, the Holocaust was an elementary school prank.

We have allowed ourselves to be maneuvered into an evil deed, that we can't easily extract ourselves from [abortion], and on top of that, we have cowardly allowed our country to be attacked [from the south] for purely political reasons.

And it continues....all of it.

What makes you think God smiles on this country in this year, and at this place??? He used to, I have no doubt...but Look again...please. "COME OUT OF HER" and live as Christians. We can not serve evil and Christ at the same time. And THIS, is why I think God is allowing terror to strike us, and why I think they will be successful again.

We see our moral character as a country crumbling all around us and can be evidenced so clearly in the demon possession of EfnKerry's minions, and the news media that supports him, and the fact that he has so much support from the American sheeple as a whole. [The sheeple are all blinded by evil. They can not see or hear the demons sitting on Kerry's shoulders, screaming blasphemy at our God.]

We, as Christians, can also see the demon attack on our President, manifesting itself in his weakness to stand up to ALL of the evil around him. He is stumbling.
Bush needs our prayers at this time more than ever. He needs to confront the evil of abortion through judicial fiat, and he needs to confront A L L of the threats to this country, not just the politically expedient ones.
Pray for him so that God will once again smile on our nation.

This is a Word of Knowledge that has come to me this day. Have you ever seen me rant like this against the "government" before so vehemently, including THIS administration? No I have not. This just came to me as I was reading that article on shooting from the south..., and was not thought out. My hands were on their own on this one.

Yes, I'll still vote be voting against EfnKerry.

/ rant over for now

I was just thinking the same thing, that where ever the Kitty Hawk is right now, it's tomorrow already.

I guess Allah wasn't willing on that one, or the attack on London, or the attack in the Phillipines.

I just hope Allah is also not willing when they decide it's time for us.

And wouldn't that say something about the security (or lack of) that this passenger got through when obviously his ticket and ID couldn't be matching if the ticket was not in his name........?

Maybe there is room for optimism after all these tedious and unnerving threats.

Philippines-foiled
France-foiled
Italy (Milan)-foiled
UK "spectacular"foiled

US- hopefully being foiled as we speak. (I mean, post)

I don't like the implications of this one:
Do you folks think it should go on a topic where others will more likely see it?

Taiwan President rejects China's 'one country, two systems' formula

Chen vows to create new Constitution

TAIPEI

President Chen Shui-bian vowed to go forward with plans to write a new Constitution for Taiwan within two years, a move China has said could compel it to seize the island by force.

In his first interview since his re-election on March 20, Mr Chen also said China's 'one country, two systems' formula would never be accepted by Taiwan - a 'sovereign country' governed by a president - since it could not even work well in Hong Kong, which is only under a chief executive.

'The fundamental reason I won this presidential election is because there is a rising Taiwan identity and it has been solidified,' Mr Chen said.

'I think the Beijing authorities should take heed of this fact and accept the reality.'

Mr Chen's remarks signalled his refusal to commence cross-strait negotiations under Beijing's terms although his approach has created a deep division in Taiwanese society and caused unease in Washington.

The Chinese government claims sovereignty over Taiwan and has threatened to seize it by force if it formally declares independence. It has said a new Constitution could amount to such a declaration.

But Mr Chen said a new Constitution would have nothing to do with Taiwan's independence.

Instead, he said, it would aim to deepen democratic reforms and improve governance by lowering the voting age, adding new human rights guarantees, reducing the size of the legislature and settling other disputes that have left the island's government gridlocked.

The 54-year-old lawyer attributed the increase in his voter support to 50.1 per cent from about 39 per cent in 2000 to a growing sense among Taiwanese that they are citizens of a new nation distinct from China.

'In Taiwan, we have full democracy, and our freedom and democracy are fully protected,' he said. 'We do not wish to return to the era of authoritarianism. We don't want our freedoms to be restricted or taken away.'

'For the 23 million people of Taiwan, this is the greatest warning, and also the clearest signal. 'One country, two systems' is totally unattractive to the Taiwan people,' he added, referring to the formula under which Hong Kong was promised a high degree of autonomy when it returned to Chinese rule in 1997 and which Beijing says Taiwan must eventually accept.

Mr Chen said he would continue to reject Beijing's 'one China' principle in his second term because 'one China' is defined as the People's Republic of China with Taiwan relegated as a local government, 'which is totally unacceptable to our people'.

But Mr Chen also said he wanted to set aside his differences with China on Taiwan's status and begin negotiations to improve cross-strait relations, including establishing political ties, opening direct air and shipping links and reducing military tensions.

Asked how he would address China's build-up of missiles and other military capabilities aimed at Taiwan, Mr Chen said he would continue to strengthen Taiwan's military and expand its defence and 'counter-strike' forces.

But he said he would not be drawn into an expensive arms race with China.

In response, China yesterday accused Mr Chen of making 'separatist' comments.

'Once again, Chen Shui-bian has campaigned shamelessly for separatism and independence for Taiwan,' a statement by the Taiwan Affairs Office said.

'Without any shadow of a doubt, he has indicated that he will continue to promote this theory of independence, and he stubbornly defends his stance of separating Taiwan from China.' -- Washington Post, AFP
