My favorite group in the early 80s was the Plasmatics. There was something nihilistic about them, but that is not quite the word. I thought it was pretty cool when the late Wendy O. Williams shouted at the end of a TV performance: "I hate art! I hate fashion!"

I saw the Plasmatics live many years ago on New Years Eve before they entered their "metal" stage. Of course the highlight was Wendy chainsawing a guitar in half. Musically they weren't much, but it was a spectacle, to say the least.
