BAGHDAD, Iraq (Reuters) - Two U.S. soldiers were killed when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Iraq on Thursday, the U.S. military said.

A statement by U.S. Central Command said another soldier was wounded in the attack on a convoy, near Habbaniyah, west of Baghdad. The soldiers were from the First Brigade Combat Team of Task Force All American.

Because those who volunteer to face these cruel, mass-murdering enemies for our freedom deserve to be honored by those who understand why we fight, understand something of the courage it must take to face this enemy daily, far from loved ones, for a cause greater than themselves.

We take them from the hands of AP and co., those who blindly, or willfully - but most certainly cruelly and selfishly - exploit them, and lift them up, in love and gratitude...

...in prayer, in community, and for their families and loved ones who sacrifice, as well.

It is for them, not the press, that we pay tribute....and with hope that someday those who exploit them will learn, as many of us learned - from courageous veterans who have been there, and know what it means to honor a fallen brother.

The left, who participated in yesterdays memorial, openly stated the fact that even though they intended to vote Kerry, that this was not a political issue. They realized Bush was there both in the interest of America and out of respect of those who perished in 911.

Today our nation is fighting the terrorism which attacked us. I cannot imagine those who give their lives wishing to be recognized politically. If the goal is to pay tribute to them, certainly there is a better way than breaking news, the manner which mass media incorporates. I don't know anything about the vets forum nor the religion forum if either military recognition or prayer applies. I don't see the honor here.

The honor is that a brave and priceless human being died for us, and that is breaking news and above most other affairs of mankind on earth, any day.

It is not a chalk mark for the enemy, it is a measure of the noble character of our military men and women, and a reminder to us all....

Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today.
As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?

First Brigade Combat Team of Task Force All American.

This doesn't sound familiar. As many times as my son has tried to tell me what his designation is I get confused.Third corps, 1st Cav, 1-7, Gary Owen. Maybe somebody could help me figure it out so it is less confusing.

Web site for 3 Corps http://www.hood.army.mil/pao/hood_files/organization.htm

web site for 1-7 CAV
http://pao.hood.army.mil/1cd_1-7cav/frg.htm

your son is in a troop (company) in the 1-7 CAV Squadron Garry Owen, (a battalion sized element plus), which is a supporting unit of the 1st CAV Division, which is flagged under 3 Corps. I've spent time in 1st CAV and with a sister 4-7 CAV Squadron Garry Owen in Korea...
