WASHINGTON, March 10 /U.S. Newswire/ -- A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on major media outlets to end their association with a controversial conservative pundit who recently suggested that Muslims "smell bad." The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said syndicated columnist Ann Coulter, who frequently appears as a guest on cable news programs, made that Islamophobic remark in a recent commentary on Mel Gibson's new film "The Passion of the Christ."
Coulter wrote: "Being nice to people is, in fact, one of the incidental tenets of Christianity (as opposed to other religions whose tenets are more along the lines of 'kill everyone who doesn't smell bad and doesn't answer to the name Mohammed'). She also referred to: "(The Prophet) Muhammad's many specific instructions to kill non-believers whenever possible."

"We believe strongly in freedom of speech and support Ann Coulter's right to hold even bigoted and hate-filled views," said CAIR Communications Coordinator Rabiah Ahmed. "But credible media outlets should not associate themselves with or serve to legitimize such overt racism and Islamophobia." Ahmed called on newspapers that publish Coulter's column and on cable news channels that invite her as a guest commentator to reconsider promoting someone who spreads virulent hatred and intolerance.
Coulter has made a number of similarly anti-Muslim comments since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Immediately following the attacks, she suggested that "we should invade their (Muslim) countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." Coulter wrote in Worldnetdaily.com: "While Judaism and Christianity begin with the Creation, Islam reveres a God who creates nothing."
When asked whether she would recommend "Muslim-free air travel," Coulter said: "This is my idea...I think airlines ought to start advertising: 'We have the most civil rights lawsuits brought against us by Arabs.'" When asked how Muslims would travel, she responded: "They could use flying carpets." (Guardian, 5/17/03) Coulter also referred to Middle Easterners as "camel riding nomads" and said Egyptians have an "aversion to bathing."
CAIR is America's largest Islamic civil liberties group.

In the late 70s, when I was in college, there were a bunch of Arabs, Iranians, etc. in my college. We were all relatively friendly to each other. I don't remember how the conversation came up, but one of the Arabs told me that rather than showering with soap and water, they use oil to wash themselves. I think he meant something like baby oil, but I didn't want to get too personal by asking.

I only had g.m. once - didn't like it. A friend of mine is from the Mid-East (Egypt) and uses it often. That's where I remember it from, because liking to cook, I asked him and we talked about it. I know my friend bathes (he's a Physician) but the strength of the scent is akin to someone having a garlic pepperoni pizza (strengthwise - although different aroma). I'm told those stronger spices work through the entire body. As the old saying goes - "you are what you eat" - or at least, you'll smell like it.

Pardon these graphic details, but they do not use toilet paper, only water to sluice their lower parts.

One of the seasonings used in curries is asafoetida, which is very stinky. And they use a lot of onion and garlic. I think they blend the spices individually
Personally, I hate bland food, but then, I am Cajun, so love garlic, onion, peppers, and many other seasonings.

Yeah, I remember it now from our store. Believe me, there are things that smell far worse (i.e. asafetida). Ironically, though asafetida or hing will knock you over even when sealed in a package, it doesn't have that effect when small amounts are used in food.
As its name suggests, asafetida has a fetid smell and a nauseating taste; characteristics that also burdened it with the name devil's dung. In the Middle Ages, a small piece of the gum was worn around the neck to ward off disease. Whatever effectiveness it had was probably due to the antisocial properties of the amulet rather than any medicinal virtue.
Surprisingly, in Persia asafetida was used as a condiment and called the "food of the gods".
This herb is the major component in the famous Ayurvedic herbal formula Hingashtak, Sanskrit name is hing

To elaborate, Arab MEN (Women eat later, and separately from the MEN) sit around a central pot of stew at mealtime. They have "bread" (more like pita bread). They dip the bread into the stew with their RIGHT HAND.
The penalty for theft is the cutting off of the RIGHT HAND.
WHY?
The Arab MEN use their left hand as we use toilet paper. An Arab man is not allowed to use his LEFT HAND to hold "Bread" and dip into the stew.

Yeah, they do smell - sort of like a cross between an unwashed body, a dead camel and explosive powder.
"Ibrahim" Cooper is a traitor American who converted to Islam. Since he likes his Islamic buddies so much, we should ship him to Mecca. While we're at it, we should ship ALL his Islamic buddies polluting U.S. soil there to.
So there.
And he better stop picking on Ann Coulter or he's liable to make some Crusader REALLY angry at him - the dirtbag.

Talking about curry is making me hungry. Think I will take the family to a Middle Eastern restaurant tonight! My favorite Middle Eastern cuisine is Lebanese, though, so probably no curry. Or maybe we will try an Afghan place we haven't been to in a while.

Nowhere there do I see them refute anything she said. Only complain that she said it.Sounds like a bunch of leftists to me, by God!
