WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden might be preparing to move from Pakistan to Afghanistan, according to sources with access to the latest U.S. intelligence.
U.S. intelligence found signs of a network of al Qaeda couriers and safe houses on the Afghan side of the border, sources said. Such a network could be a sign bin Laden might be planning to flee Pakistan.

I'm sure Bin Laden will go right ahead with the plan now that we've publicized it.
If we really had this info and thought he was going to move, would we really leak it to the press??? Are we really that stupid???????
To: bobo1
For your list, a few that come to mind: posturing, perjury, polarizing, polling for policy, prevaricating and projection.

Doesn't matter. This is a message to bin Laden more than anything. "We have you."

Oh... I agree... there has to be some other motivation for putting this out. There have been a number of stories just like this. I'm just pointing out that if this story, and the others like it, are true, it's amazingly stupid to release it in the press.

Lib mentality:
If you catch Osama, it will be:
"Big deal. Credit Clinton for handing Bush new military technology, and America vs. Osama should not have taken so long."
If you don't catch Osama, it will be:
"Incompetent. Osama is making an ass of America. Bush was distracted by Iraq."
Point being:
1. Be prepared for the Lib attack either way;
2. Never debate the Libs;
3. Stage-craft events to get positive media coverage as did Reagan;
4. Launch attacks of ridicule to marginalize Libs at every opportunity. The pack-rat Libs and voters FEAR ridicule and public humiliation above all else.
Now, go do it!

I think we should nuke the whole tora bora region.
Then say, "Our intelligence told us that Al Queda was trying to assembly nuclear weapons, and we knew these were dangerous in untrained hands. It is really an unfortunate thing that has happened, and this administration pledges our spport for the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan in their efforts to rebuild a democratic government that will be a working peace partner for many years to come."

This is probably having the effect our forces designed it to have.</i> This has to make Osama wonder if we have flipped someone high up in his group......or makes him doubt his inner circle...or his network.... it will have been a success. His not knowing if the next safe house he moves to has been compromised is to our advantage..

"......someone is spilling the beans. . . ." Sounds like it.
I do wonder whether the story yesterday that Angelus Errare linked about K. al-Zawahiri having "escaped" is also an attempt to sow seeds of doubt in the al-Qaeda camp.

I will undoubtedly go into hysterics listening to the whining 'rats if Bin Laden is captured before the election. It will be interesting to see their angry faces nightly trying to spin it. They already have their spin a-turnin'...they say that Bush already has Bin Laden and is just waiting to trot him out as a political ploy.

Wazir tribes to plan search for wanted tribesmen today
* Government orders conditional release of 5 key tribal leaders
* Demands positive results within days
By Iqbal Khattak
PESHAWAR: Various Wazir sub-tribes are meeting today (Tuesday) in the South Waristan Agency to plan a search for wanted tribesmen and foreign terrorists in the area as the political administration allowed the conditional release of five arrested tribal leaders and unsealing of around 600 shops.
The arrested elders include chief of the Ahmedzai tribe Malik Bismallah Jan, Malik Khanzada, Malik Sarwar Khan, Malik Ali Shah and Malik Bakhan. Their release was subject to positive results from a 1,200-man tribal lashkar (army) within days, a senior official told Daily Times from Wana on the phone.
We have told the Wazir tribe that the Lashkar - agreed upon on Sunday in a meeting between all Wazir sub-tribes and five senators - must deliver within three days. The government will be justified in taking extreme measures if they [tribesmen] do not meet that demand, Wana deputy administrator Rehmatullah Wazir told Daily Times

Fascinating info there, and this is just what little they want the public to know about right now.
