I have many gay friends, some very close to me. How close is very close?

Why should we be ashamed to argue on behalf of our own families' financial interest?

This is precisely why conservatives get our butts kicked in the political arena: we think that by appealing to high flown principles we "rise above" the petty bickering and back stabbing of the Democrats. This has been Bush's approach & I can't see what it has gained him.

Democrats understand that their hand-to-mouth constituency doesn't care about principles. If we are interested in winning this fight, we'd better be ready to get dirty. It's going to get that way.

That's assuming we intend to fight it.

As I was growing up, the idea was that income taxes are "progressive" and sales taxes are "regressive". Thus the seeds were planted in my generation to greatly extend the income tax.

The same is being done to kids today about the homosexual revolution. Kids learn that they cannot be considered kind and tolerant unless they have gay friends and support gay clubs. (They must also profess to like rap, for their "African American Brothers". ) It is not a private thing either, during gay-straight week they must wear ribbons and be very public with their views or risk a calling out in class by the teacher. It is amazing that you made it to become a common sense thinker. Why we ever let the education system be put in the hands of the left is beyond me.
