[history]
Firefighters and some relatives of those killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks yesterday said they were furious about Bush-Cheney campaign ads featuring fleeting images of a destroyed World Trade Center and of firefighters carrying a flag-draped coffin.
Criticism of the ads, which were aired for the first time yesterday, threatened to blunt the $4.5 million opening salvo of the Bush-Cheney campaign's battle to restore the image of the president, which has been battered during the Democratic nominating process.

the strongest comments yesterday came from some families of Sept. 11 victims. If it was husband or wife we might listen sympathetically; if it was an in-law or 4th cousin, forget it. Victim mentality as a way of life. Where is Trump? Fire them all.

Rush is doing a great job so far this morning. Did you hear the supposed Republican who called in and said he didn't like the Bush ads? Rush totally nailed her. It's pretty funny.

Yep I heard her ... I posted this on another thread
I'm listening to Rush and he had a women caller on saying she was a life long Republican and saying how upset she was that President used 9/11 in these ads.
Rush then asked her if she would be just as upset if Kerry used Vietnam in Ads and she said yes but that he didn't do that and Bush did
Soooooooooo .. then Rush played an Ad that Kerry had about his Vietnam service and part of the speech he gave on Capital Hill .. it ran in September
The women didn't seem upset about it after all ... hmmmm
Last night Chris Mathews interviewed Monica Gabriel and asked if she would be upset if Kerry used 9/11 in campaign Ads
At first she wouldn't answer .. then after a bit she said she would be upset about it
Now I am hearing that Kerry has used 9/11 in campaign ads being sent to fire fighters

These people are being exposed for what they are. Hope they got paid by the DNC because they are making fools of themselves. For shame, for shame...
Rush just said that Mike Moran - the firefighter at the Concert for New York - is going to be on right after the break. Should be good.

Rush is on a roll today I love it. He is going to have on phone one of fire fighters on next segment. This is going to be good.

Good grief. I realize these people suffered terrible losses on 9/11, but there are people all across these United States that suffer terrible losses every day. Why the heck do these people think of themselves as some special class of victims? I'm sick of hearing from them demanding to be handled with kid gloves.
These ads do nothing but honor those who lost their lives on 9/11. They honor those who rushed in to find survivors and dig out the bodies of lost loved ones. And they honor the American people for pulling together during that terrible time in our history.
And these idiotic 'victims' need to get over themselves.

Bush advisers said they made a calculated risk
The only other alternative, they argued, would have been to ignore the terrorist attacks altogether
Another adviser said that the Bush-Cheney campaign welcomed the debate over the ads, arguing that it is better for Bush to face a discussion about his handling of Sept. 11 than almost any other topic the Democrats have raised in recent weeks
Still, Bush strategists were not prepared for the outcry that followed the ad launch
BULLCRAP.
The atrocities of September 11 are the high ground in this election. President Bush has a clear path to the high ground. The Rats will try anything they can to keep him from taking it. I can't blame them, what else can they do?
The President must be firm in not giving in to the whining and carping in the media. This is the time not to read the newspapers and watch TV but to keep on doing his own thing. To accommodate the Rat sensibilities means death to his candidacy.

"The union MEMBERS need to start speaking up about their union LEADERS using them"
That's true of all unions, not just firefighters. In general, all union leadership is in the hip pockets of the Democrats.
Seems like it is time for another workers' revolt - but this time against their own union leaders.

"I think they should be shown over and over again so we never forget."
Amen.
And these family members should honor the memory of their loved ones by encouraging the American people to remain unified, not by whining because their tender little sensibilities got hurt.
I suspect most of them are paid hit-men working for the Democrats. All those millions in aid and government assistance wasn't enough, you know.
