WASHINGTON - Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Mayor Bloomberg yesterday came to President Bush's defense as the White House moved to contain a flap over Sept. 11 images in the president's new re-election ads.

Democrats, a firefighters union and some family members of victims charged that the commercials - which show quick glimpses of the destroyed World Trade Center with a flag flying and firemen removing a body from Ground Zero - were a callous attempt to exploit the tragedy for political ends.

If George W. Bush wants to use 9/11 in his campaign, that is his right. He was attacked too.

I was hearing some liberal callers to the Michael Medved radio show FROTHING about
the commercials yesterday.

I finally listened to that cynical little voice in my head and it said:
"Karl Rove would NEVER release a commercial that hadn't been tested with focus groups
and by the best political analysts he could find. These commercials were released
first as good campaign adverts...and the possibility of flushing out the Democrats
that would sound like polarizing, raging, unbalanced wackos."

So far, it sounds like Dubya/Rove have gotten the "two-fer".

"...Except, of course, when it really counts, like in those early morning hours when this country was under attack and our Commander in Chief was drinking milk and eating cookies with second graders."

LOL! I'm speechless. Stupid dingbat.

Thanks for the info on Breitweiser. (Her name should be Dimdummer)

I am sorry for her loss with the death of her mealticket, er, husband. She is only looking for somebody to blame.

This is the type of woman that thinks the Iraqi War is all about enriching Bush, Cheney and Halliburton. "It's all about oil, folks"!

Morons.

"The counterattack which will sweep Kerry and pre 9/11 liberal thinking into justly earned oblivion has begun."

So any reasonable minded person would think . .

As for this ad; the demrats protest too much and they lie too much.

We need to get off 'defensive' mode; and explain why they are offended by this message; they cannot stand being reminded that no Dem can match Bush for genuine leadership."

And they don't want America to be reminded either.

I hope Bush starts using the Pentagon in some of his ads. That will really drive them nuts. Not only would they have to speak out against Bush but they would have to insult the military also.
