For the record (and to my mind), FDR was the worst President in history. Ditto. Carter was the absolute worst. I still remember the price of bread and milk going up every week, people getting laid off, jobs lost, and he sat on his butt doing nothing (except making things worse). Then there was his fiasco sending helos into Iran to rescue our hostages, which should have never fell to the ayatollah in the first place. Reagan was a breath of fresh air once Carter got the boot.

Plus, Carter said it was all our fault -- the 'American malaise', to be precise. Gas prices going through the roof, block long lines at gas stations, hostages, the inept rescue attempt, his constant carping and whining in that ridiculous accent. He turned down thermosats and highway speed limits, which only made the elderly sick and used up more gasoline. He dithered, afraid of making decisions, blamed everyone else. A jerk of the first water.

Yea, and don't forget all the Cubans he allowed into this country.

People forget how bad things were in 1980.
