That's what I figured. The BushBashers need to get a clue. George W. Bush gave the signal to Tom DeLay that he was to make sure, beyond any reasonable doubt that the AWB dies in the House. That's what Bush meant when he said he wanted a clean bill. No riders.
This thing will be taken out in conference. Period. The AWB is dead as a doornail. Bush said he would sign an AWB extension, but can't afford to piss off his base. He wants DeLay to do the dirty work for him.
DeLay will not only do the dirty work for him. He will enjoy doing the dirty work for him.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

How can you POSSIBLY saying this is dead? I think it's going to be passed along with the gunshow ban and the ammo ban as well. I sure don't see any signs of the reps standing up for us this time.

"DeLay will not only do the dirty work for him. He will enjoy doing the dirty work for him. " And the people back Delay in this too.
The House represents the people and the people's attitude towards the AWB has changed. This election we can also expect the Senate to gain the two or three pro-2nd Senators that would have killed the AWB amendment.
The great news in this whole story is that voters- the people- are more protective of their constitutional 2nd amendment rights!

Chris,
I sure hope you are right buddy. Listen, I am not going to bash Bush and the GOP---I just cannot believe they are flirting this close to political disaster.

That's what Bush meant when he said he wanted a clean bill. No riders. That's not what he said, he said he wanted the Senate to pass a clean bill *so as not to delay passage* of the liability protection bill. Not quite the same thing.

It is this simple to me....If it makes it through the house and Bush signs it...he loses my vote....if it makes it through the house and Bush Vetos it...he gets my vote. If it dies in the house Bush gets my vote.
I'm willing to wait and see.
